　　要说我敬佩的一个人，那就是我的妈妈，她长得不高也不矮，瘦瘦的，好象一阵风就会把妈妈吹倒（开个玩笑），妈妈学英语。接下来我就给你讲讲妈妈学英语的事。

　　那时我才上三年级，学校里开了英语课，每次老师说要我们回家读课文们回家读课文给家长听，可是好多地方妈妈不懂，我读错了她也不知道，而且我不会读的单词和课文也没有人帮我辅导，为这妈妈和我都很苦恼，几天以后妈妈做了个想象不到的决定：妈妈要学—英—语。我和爸爸都不敢相信自己的耳朵。

　　妈妈说到果然做到，她先去买了许多英语教材和磁带，然后又去报了英语班。可是大多数英语班都是教小孩子的，好不容易才找到一个教成人英语的，妈妈很高兴。

　　妈妈一开始学英语很困难，爸爸劝她说：“你现在都三十多了，记忆又不好，没有年轻时的脑子好用了，反正也学不好，不如别学了。”我也劝妈妈不要那么辛苦，可妈妈就是不听，她说：“我不能半途而废，有始无终，我一定要坚持，要给璐璐做个好榜样，不是吗？”然后妈妈有接着背单词、读课文。因为妈妈基础不扎实，所以要从三年级的教材开始学。晚上我们叫妈妈睡觉了，她说：“你们先睡我过一会就睡”。我们就没管她。12点多了我起来喝水，看见妈妈还在看书就劝她早就休息，她点点头说：“再学一会”。到了第二天，我们看见妈妈的.眼睛红红的肿肿的，也不知道昨天晚上几点才睡，爸爸生气的说：“你爱惜点自己的身体好不好？多大的人了，眼睛还要不要？”我也对妈妈说：“你这样是会影响上班的。”妈妈只是笑笑，照样我行我素，爸爸一生气就把妈妈报的那个英语班给退了。妈妈知道后很伤心，不理爸爸了好几天。我们以为妈妈伤心过后就不学了，但我们错了，妈妈照样坚持着，自己边学边找老师，就这样妈妈坚持了两年多，终于学会了英语，现在我的英语也有人帮我辅导了，我们能在家里进行简单的英语对话，我的英语成绩也慢慢的上升，我真为我的妈妈骄傲。

　　在过去的几周里，我在努力的和星吧阁的多数学生家长们进行交谈。大家交流中不断提及的话题之一，就是在家中创造英文环境的问题。如今我们都听说过一些方法，比如观看英文电影、听英文歌曲等，但说起另一方法——用英文和他们的孩子对话，绝大多数的中国家长都不敢尝试。主要原因，就是担心他们这样做会在某种程度上对孩子的外语学习造成不良的影响。家长们的担心包括:

　　● 怕孩子会“感染”上他们可怕的口音

　　● 害怕自己混淆语法，或用错词语

　　● 担心自己的词汇量不够用来教孩子

　　●每次家长试着和孩子用英文对话的时候，孩子表现抵触的情绪，或者干脆用中文回答

　　我想和大家解释一下，为什么我认为这类问题是可以克服的，以及为什么我认为在家里和孩子讲英语，是家长在帮助孩子学英语的经历中能为他们做的最有益的事情。

　　在我和家长们开始谈到讲英语的时候，我发现用一个简单的比喻来解释效果不错。如果您的孩子想学打篮球，您可以在开始的时候教他学习如何抓球。然后，教他如何弹球，以及投篮。之后，您可以教他篮球的游戏规则，甚至和孩子一起玩一下。所有这些您教的基本技能，都是孩子要打篮球比赛所必需的核心条件。一旦学习掌握并加以实践，他就可以和其他孩子一起玩耍，同时提高自身的技能。当和其他的孩子一起游戏的时候，通过观摩其他的孩子，您的孩子会通过学习他人的玩法，来形成自己的游戏策略，甚至会开始对自己的技法进行创新。当他从练习中以及对失误的总结学习中表现越来越好的时候，他就有可能在篮球技能上超越您。

　　您在担心自己教给孩子不地道的口音、混淆语法、或者词汇量不够的问题吗？其实，让孩子置身于这种语言环境之中，以及从能够流利讲这种语言的`人那里得到反馈，远远要比让他实现完美的发音更为重要。不过，如果您的孩子学习英文达到一定的时间，他们最终将会琢磨出正确的发音。

　　想象一下，在您的孩子的大脑中，有两种知识桶。一个桶里装的是汉语，另一个桶里是英语。两桶之间，是汉语和英语的混合部分和两种语言在语调、词汇、语法和口音等方面的重叠。开始的时候，孩子会模仿您说英文的方式，因为他是从您这里得到的大多数英文语言输入。当他们学的内容越来越多、年龄不断增长、同时也变得更加成熟的时候，当听到以英文为母语的外国人的标准发音的时候，他们就开始模仿外国人的发音，因为此时孩子们能够意识到这种发音方式是正确的。这个时候对他们来说，两只语言桶之间将变得泾渭分明，不再有重叠混淆的领域。

　　所以，我们的首要目标，应该是实现英文表达的流畅度，而非完美程度。让我问您一个问题：您宁愿自己的孩子能够流利的讲英语呢，还是能够准确完美的说英文，但是磕磕巴巴？学习英语，是学习一种技能，而技能的掌握，是在不断的犯错和纠正中获得的。这中间需要很多的练习和指导，而孩子们在沿途沾染一些错误的习惯，也不足为奇。但是，如果他们不从基本的表达技能学起，不开始积极参与这一语言游戏，要做到有朝一日流畅的说英文，是不可能的。

　　让我告诉您去和孩子讲英语是件很容易的事，但您要身体力行并养成这样的一个习惯，并非易事。我可以想象一个开始的场景：您在家里对孩子讲英语，而孩子表现抵触，甚至认为您在以某种残酷的方式惩罚他们——养成讲英语的习惯，对孩子不容易，对您来说，也不是件容易事。但我总和家长们说，为了一生的收获，请忍住一时的泪水。
